KOLLEKTIV UNRUHE
KOLLEKTIV UNRUHE is dedicated to maintaining a democratic and nonhierarchic approach to our musical practice, actively involving all members in shaping the conditions of our artistic work. We are a dynamic group of young composers and performers who share a common vision: Curating and creating contemporary concerts infused with distinctive conceptual, performative, and contextual narratives.
We believe in enabling and perpetuating a way of music making where performative, instrumental, multimedial & collective creation can be combined, extending an invitation to our audience to partake in diverse experiences.
Founded in 2021, KOLLEKTIV UNRUHE made its debut during the festival "Monat der Zeitgenössischen Musik Berlin"
In January 2022 KOLLEKTIV UNRUHE participated in the Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy University Competition, presenting nominated compositions from Berlin's esteemed music universities.
The collective's commitment to interdisciplinary collaborations was evident in "Unruhige Köpfe," a project created for the festival “48 Stunden Neukölln” in 2022, showcasing the group's collaborative spirit among composers, video artists, and solo instrumentalists.
In 2023, KOLLEKTIV UNRUHE performed at key contemporary music festivals, including at the Darmstädter Ferienkurse, while also making their international debut at Impuls Festival Graz, each time offering distinctive concert programmes reflecting their versatility and creativity. The year culminated with ‘NOT FOUND’, an ambitious collaboratively composed performance commissioned by Klangwerkstatt Berlin for their 2023 Festival edition.
In March 2024, KOLLEKTIV UNRUHE was selected as the new Rheinsberger Residenzensemble für Neue Musik 2024/25, enabling the collective to plan and research for future performances, including their upcoming in November 2024 with Ensemble Orbis, which will take them from Berlin to Luxembourg and France in their first major international collaboration.
